Chamfron Stud is a small stud near Gretna, in the South West of Scotland. We specialise in polo but are striving to produce horses which will do more or less any job, be that hunting, jumping, western, endurance or just a family friend.
We stand a beautifully bred Appaloosa stallion who is homozygous for the spotting gene and has never produced a plain coloured foal. We are also proud to be the first, and so far only, stud in Scotland to stand a Criollo stallion.
In addition to breeding from our own mares and standing the stallions at public stud, we take horses in for breaking and re-schooling. Over the years we have broken and produced horses that have gone on to win many races and to compete in other disciplines at the highest level, including an eventer that has been long-listed for the Olympic games.
