September Round Up.

1 October 2009

A fantastically dry month on the farm and a much needed break from the rain before the winter!

Mark's polo handicap went up to Zero at the end of the season, despite him not getting much chance to play this year.

We did something a little different this month and took Pitufa down to Cheshire to take part in the Cheshire Endurance Group's "Equithon" ride. This was a 26 mile charity ride held at Eaton Estate with the kind permission of the Duke of Westmister.

We took part as a team of four South American horses, three from Edlestone Academy, with Mark riding the ex bull penning horse Charua and myself on Pitufa. We completed the ride in three hours and thirty eight minutes and this was good enough to win the Open Challenge. Pitufa had the lowest heart rate of the team horses, despite not being hard fit.

(Professional photos have been ordered and will be added when they arrive but for the moment Pitufa and her rosette!!)
