October Round Up.

1 November 2009

Chamfron By Dand had a successful first show outing, placing second in the yearling class at the Scottish Appaloosa Show with his owner Rebecca Crump. This qualified him for the Royal London Show 2010.

He got some very positive comments from the judge about his manners ("very well behaved"), temperament ("sweetest nature"), conformation ("lovely limbs and a front to die for") and movement. The only real negative being how immature he was, which is absolutely fair enough as he was a very ill foal this time last year and is bound to be behind others his age.

Arrayan's breeder, Numa Mangado, now has a website Las Moras Criollos

The stud has been breeding Criollo's since 1934, the aim has always been to breed good natured working horses, that are sound, have good feet and also with a preference for blue roans (hence the reason Arrayan, being a red roan, was not retained and we were able to buy him.)

The Scottish Appaloosa calendar has been published and features "Chamfron Chipita" and "Chamfron Snow Angel" this year. Calendars can be purchased from Karen or Marty at Meikle Obney Appaloosa Stud
